NORTHVILLE, Mich. – Time to giddy up as the horse races at Northville Downs starts this month.

The horse track will have its first of 52 race nights on April 7 beginning at 7 p.m. Races will be contested on Fridays and Saturdays from April 7 through Sept. 30. There will be between 8 and 16 races per day, according to the MGCB.

The west Michigan D-2 football team has announced that their head coach has stepped down. The school made the announcement on Sunday night, saying that the now-former coach of the Lakers will be pursuing other coaching opportunities.

DETROIT – Wayne State University has put its longtime athletic director on administrative leave.

DETROIT – You can support a good cause ahead of Sunday football by bringing a canned item to Ford Field.

On Sunday, football fans attending the Detroit Lions vs. Miami Dolphins game can bring any canned food item, which will be donated to Gleaners Community Food Bank.

The can food drive will take place 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at Gate G.
