About me

Hi, I'm Elizabeth Washington! đź‘‹

I've been involved in the media industry for the past five years. Growing up in Dearborn and graduating from Wayne State University, I developed a deep passion for media in all its forms and the impact it has on local communities.

Throughout college, I understood the importance of gaining real-world experience to enhance my career prospects. Balancing a full-time class schedule, two internships, and two jobs, I ensured that my resume reflected my dedication and passion for the media industry.

Before joining WDIV Local 4, I had volunteered at various radio stations, worked as a digital producer at WXYZ, and served as a lifestyle producer at our sister station in Virginia.

In addition to my media career, I'm an active board member of the Dearborn Cable Communications Fund. Community involvement holds a special place in my heart, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to tell the stories of the individuals in Metro Detroit.

I take great pride in how far I've come in such a short period of time. The connections I've made with inspiring individuals who share a deep love for Detroit and this industry have been truly rewarding. I am grateful to be surrounded by hardworking people who constantly motivate me and from whom I continue to learn.

Thank you for visiting my portfolio, and I look forward to connecting with you further as we navigate the exciting world of community and storytelling together.

Recommending Elizabeth is absolutely a no-brainer. Not only is she intelligent and great at making quick-in-the-moment decisions, but her passion for media and respect for her colleagues is notable. She's very mature for her age and has a grasp on the industry from all angles - news, television, radio, online producing, social media and public relations. I've had the pleasure of knowing Liz for more than 15 years and watched her flourish even when thrown a curveball. I have full confidence she will make a great addition to any team. When they learn her love for media, music and coffee, they'll embrace her too.
